It's about history and tradition. In 1913, my father, Vasco Diego Lazzareschi, grew up in the village of Lucca, Italy. His life was an adventure that extends to this very moment. Vasco entered the Italian Army at the age of 17 and was ultimately captured in North Africa. After spending 5 years as a prisoner of war in England he returned to Italy, and in 1947 ventured to America. There he joined three of his brothers who had already established a business of their own. Working for his oldest brother Bruno, Vasco started a life in America as a butcher at the Eureka Market in San Francisco. After losing his brother Dino, Vasco took ownership of the Monteclair Restaurant which he ran for years before buying Piero's Restaurant in the financial district. Later, he sold Piero's and put all of his efforts into his last restaurant Bardelli's in downtown San Francisco. Bardelli's was also where my father and I worked side by side for 18 years. Vasco Restaurant was established in 1998, when my family decided to move to Mill Valley. We work hard to ensure our customers receive the best food in Mill Valley, always using the freshest ingredients and providing the best customer service from our staff. I believe my father would be proud of this restaurant, almost as proud as I am to have you here as my guest.
Welcome and enjoy! - Paul Lazzareschi (Owner) |
